Another 3 points, another clean sheet, and another day together with fellow fans at our pub, but it’s less exciting than it would otherwise have been given the horrific injury to young Harvey Elliott. As we recap this week’s fan matchday experience here in Toronto, our hearts go out to Harvey with hope for a speedy recovery.
MATCHDAY – WEEK 4
LEEDS UNITED 0 – LIVERPOOL 3
On more positive front, Salah scored his 100th goal, the 5th fastest player to do achieve that milestone in the PL. But even that almost seemed less satisfying than seeing Sadio Mane finally getting one between the sticks! His frustration at the “almost goals” was palpable in our club, and the release of joy was amazing when he finally got it in (see video below). And if you didn’t understand Sadio’s (and the fans’) frustration at not scoring more, check out the number of shots on net this man had!
THE LEAD UP
Lots on the go here at the OLSC with the Annual General Meeting announced this week. See the full announcement here. Lots of excitement building around the renewed efforts to grow our club to one of the biggest and most-active supporters clubs in North America.
Our team met with management at The Madison Avenue Pub this week and we’re working formalizing the partnership and space for the rest of the season! We’ll be hanging Liverpool FC banners permanently in the club, we’re organizing a Member’s “English Breakfast” for early matches, and other perks for those coming in to the pub for matchdays!
A NOTE ON RESERVATIONS: The Madison has indicated that they will be updating their reservation system to allow for online reservations to be made for early matches before the scheduled opening time. This means that you’ll soon be able to make reservations at least 30 minutes prior to early AM kick offs. And, while walk-ins will likely be accepted, we encourage you to please make a reservation for each match to help them ensure proper staffing to serve us all better! It’s in your interest as much as theirs to make the reservation.
Mohammed scored his 100th goal but it was Sadio Mane getting that monkey off his back, and scoring the third and final goal to close out the game, that got everyone singing!

The rain did not put a damper on the mood as the Maddy has ample covered patio space for those who wish to remain outside while watching Liverpool FC play. Similarly, for those looking for quieter, less busy spaces, there’s lots of corner rooms available for you! Check out some of the pics from this week’s gathering.
We continue to grow our membership base as well as the number of international fans who come join us at the pub! We’ve seen a number of Scousers who’ve moved to Toronto recently within our ranks, along with others from across Europe and the USA. Welcome, all! This week, we also had a recent transplant from Denver who brought a gift from the Denver OLSCs. We exchanged club scarves and will soon be adding theirs to our walls at The Maddy.
AND THE WINNER IS….
And finally, as with every Premier League match this season, the Official Liverpool Supporters Club of Toronto conducted its half-time member draw. This week we had special guest Joe Bowen (Voice of the Leafs) join us and so we asked him to pick the half-time winner. This week gave away a 2021/22 LFC Nike ball cap to OLSC member Leo Kelly! Check out the live draw video below.
You can become a member of the Official Liverpool Supporters Club of Toronto online!
You’ll gain access to many benefits, sweepstakes, and connect with fellow fans across the Greater Toronto Area and the World.
And the winning continues…members who come to the pub for the match can scan their digital membership cards with one of the OLSC team members for a chance to win additional prizes. This week’s membership card scan winner was OLSC Toronto Member, Harith Al-Shakarchi,
We have two matches coming up this week! Join us at The Madison Ave Pub for the mid-week Champion’s League contest between Liverpool FC and AC Milan (Wednesday, September 15th, 3 PM) and Premier League match between Liverpool FC and Crystal Palace (Saturday, September 18th, 10 AM).
