LIVERPOOL FC 2 | Everton FC 0, Matchweek #34 Review

Hello LFC Family,

Well our amazing LFC TO crew is still in Liverpool and I could not be more jealous. So here I go to try my luck at a bit of punditry, slash try and emulate the great Samoochie 2.0. Let the games begin...

Liverpool FC 2 - Everton FC 0

Robertson (62'minutes)

Origi (85'minutes)

Salah (62'minutes)

Díaz (85'minutes)

Well it was Derby time in the city of Liverpool. It was an interesting lead up to this match well on two ends of the spectrum. We have the new resurgent Burnley squad battling with the Bluenoses to retain premiership status and us well, trying to keep up with the other Blue Moon Emptihad crew.

As I said in our LFC Youtube show, I had vengeance on my mind due to T-Rex Arm Pickford chop down of VVD and that injury to Thiago due to that diving Bleach Blond Brazilian Richarlarollaround.

At the pub this weekend, some real interesting conversations, if we wanted Everton to stay up or not. At the time of our derby match, Burnley had secured a hard fought 1-Nil victory vs those stubborn wolves. So at our match time they were already in the relegation zone. Many folks initially said, hey lets keep them up on the sole point of playing these two Merseyside derby's. Others were far more vocal and said to hell with these bluenoses, they need to be taught a lesson. At first I was indifferent, but as the first half shithousery came to play, I was like at the least lets hammer these pesky neighbors.

In life I believe in a bit of karma.. so many karmic points in this match.

Firstly, man with little arms pickford as one of the elder statesmen John mentioned at the  Madison. That wasting of time again and again, then that cheeky wink and coy smile as he turtled every moment he had. Time wasting upon timewasting, was literally upon us. I thought, this was reminiscent of the times, we had trouble breaking down those parking the bus kinds of teams.

Poor tackles, time wasting, we just didn't catch our stride in the first half. So much so, that the Maddys crowd was becoming ever restless and the booze started flowing to calm down the nerves. (You can ask King Kosta about that one, who was having pitchers with a straw, but will leave that one for another day).

Second half, Klopp made a few changes, Liverpool introduced Origi and Luis Diaz on 61 minutes and just 60 seconds later Origi's one-two with Mohamed Salah saw the Egyptian set up Robertson to head home. It was the defender's first Premier League goal at Anfield since September 2020.

Still a lot of shithousery going on, Richarlison kick out on Hendo, diving gordon, but it was the 6'1 enigma Divock Origi with his 6th goal against Everton in all competitions, who helped to seal our victory.

Now back to Karma.. that first half wink and turtle by Pickford, set the stage for our wonderful and sublime Keepahhh, Ali Becker simulating that same drop and turtle to the joy and laughter of the entire Anfield stadium.

One of the most amazing moments of skill in the match.. that Diaz touch, just on another level. As an LFC fan, with a full preseason under his belt, look out world and prem next year, we have an energizer bunny in our midst.

In the end, our class and perseverance prevailed and again, we are one point behind those oil barren blue neighbors.

Another amazing moment is one of our Super Fans Lawson, he is such a firecracker. His amazing parents gave him a LFC Song Book for Christmas and well, we sang every song, that he wanted us to sing. He was belting them out, like he was on star search and he is literally one of our young stars. Kudos to his gramps for bringing him to the Maddys for the afternoon derby. Oh and his favorite player is Robbooo.. so you can imagine his excitement, that one of his idols had scored.

Lastly, we speak about LFC Legends and impact players, well our very own Divock Okoth Origi fits that bill. It will be sad moment for many of us to see him go, but the great memories such as the final vs Spurs, many moments of Everton magic and the most iconic one vs Barcelona will live with us for ever and a day!

It is such a great time to be an LFC fan!

Next Stop villarreal

Well its Champions League time.. this week its vs The Yellow Submarine. Such an interesting premise to Liverpool and the Beatles, but lets just leave it at that, shall we.

Villarreal sit 7th in La Liga, but don't let that form fool you, they dispatched Juventus and the mighty German machine Bayern to get to the Semi-Final.

They have a sprinkling of ex prem players such as Lo Celso, Foyth, Aurier all ex Pigeons and our very own good ebening Alberto Moreno on the squad. Like all Unai Emery squads, they will be very hard to break down and very well organized to say the least. In both Bayern legs, they only had two shots on target, scoring the vital one to finish off the German powerhouse.

It should be an interesting tactical encounter. All three pubs The Slye Fox, E&C and Maddys will all be showing these matches, so book/reserve a table, to make sure they are staffed accordingly.

This past weekend, we had 12 members of the LFC Toronto community go to Liverpool for the Derby match. They attended a taping of TAW - The Anfield Wrap, pics of the murals and out and about in the city. Such a great perk to be able to provide tickets to our members for Anfield matches. We also have Alvin in Mauritius, Ahmed meeting up with Djbril Cisse, who was Deejaying in TO, as well our resident KOP taking the trip down to Slye for this weekends Merseyside encounter.

Please continue to send us your amazing pics supporting LFCTO from around the world!

Did you see our Amazing and Vivacious Yvi and our Silver Fox Samoochie on the KOP, doing the draw live from Anfield. Such an amazing video and really makes you feel like you were there.

We had two winners Munish and Joe. We will be in contact with you for your prize packs.

Every member is entered into the draw, whether you are at the pub or not, another one of our member perks..

  1. You forgot to call out the REAL player of the match – the Robbo-Enforcer himself – Andy Robertson!!

Loved being here in the Kop but miss you all dearly.

  2. Brilliant blog Jake..turtling TRex…love it. Atmosphere at Anfield before during and after was off the charts. Brilliant perk of being a member to get access to Tix. Had the pleasure of meeting some other OlSCs from Ireland and Austria and (I think) Denmark, was a scandy olsc but I may have had a few light sherries at that point! . UP THE REDS.
