Liverpool vs Arsenal Premier League Matchday Recap #12

I got a kick out of watching a series of YouTube videos of Arsenal fans Saturday morning, each chatting about their “feeling” that “this is the one”…the one where their Gunners come to Anfield and beat Liverpool FC. I guess you can’t blame them? Arsenal FC were in form and coming off a 4-win streak.  Liverpool, on the other hand, are plagued with midfield injuries and coming off their first loss of the season with a disappointing performance and result against West Ham just before the International break.

But this is Anfield – and Anfield LOVES to host the Gunners. Plus, with Chelsea’s win against Leicester City, you knew our boys would not disappoint.

LIVERPOOL FC  4 – ARSENAL FC 0

Watch Liverpool FC Toronto - Salah

Mane, Jota, Salah, and Taki showed up in a big way to remind Arteta and the Gunners why we own them at Anfield. In fact, the whole team showed up.

Trent’s sublime pass to Mane to open the scoring should have been a sign of things to come for them. In the pub, we knew…this is gonna blow open any minute. I predicted a 3-nil score line. I was confident.

The second half started with an almost comical mistake by Varela Tavares (who, incidentally, was boasting about Salah ‘knowing his name after this match’) set up Diogo Jota for a brilliant second goal, who showed his skill on the ball.

Then, in what’s becoming a patented Liverpool move, an Alisson pass to the midfield resulted in a Mane-Salah one-two that made it 3-nil.

Finally, in what TAA referred to as a “blur of red,” the fourth goal saw an incredible run of play that ended up with a precisely placed goal by the Taki!

LET THE GOOD TIMES ROLL! Watch the highlights here before I wear it out from re-watching it too many times.
