Liverpool FC Supporters Club Charter

As the Official Liverpool Supporters Club (OLSC) of Toronto, we must uphold a mandate to the club and be mindful of our responsibilities to all members. The OLSC’s mission is to foster a passionate, respectful, and inclusive environment where LFC fans can gather to celebrate and support the team we love.

This charter outlines the expectations for both member and guest behavior at our official fan pub(s) during matches or other official events, ensuring a positive experience for all attendees.

1. Respect and Inclusivity

  • Treat all fellow supporters, pub staff, and guests with respect, regardless of their background, opinions, or level of knowledge about football.
  • Discriminatory language, behavior, or actions based on race, gender, religion, sexuality, or any other characteristic will not be tolerated.
  • Any acts of physical abuse, vandalism, theft, or damage to a member’s or the pub’s property are forbidden and will result in immediate and permanent ejection from the pub.
  • Make everyone feel welcome as part of the LFC family, living up to the ethos of “You’ll Never Walk Alone.”

2. Passionate Support

  • Cheer, sing, and celebrate passionately in support of the Reds, while maintaining respect for those around you.
  • Encourage the use of club songs and chants, ensuring they are in line with the values of respect and sportsmanship.
  • Avoid abusive language or behavior directed at the club, managers, players, officials, or opposition fans.

3. Respect for Club Leadership

  • Show support and respect for the club’s owners, managers, and staff, recognizing their efforts to guide the team and represent Liverpool FC.
  • While debate and football banter are acceptable, refrain from disparaging or publicly criticizing the club’s leadership in ways that could undermine the unity and values of the LFC community, influence younger fans, or negatively affect other supporters’ experiences in the pub.

4. Drinking Responsibly and Supporting Pub Staff

  • Drink responsibly to ensure the safety and enjoyment of everyone present. Avoid excessive drinking that could lead to disruptive behavior or harm to yourself or others.
  • Treat pub staff with the utmost respect, acknowledging their efforts to provide a great matchday experience. Keep working areas clear to allow the staff to operate safely and to serve everyone properly.
  • Settle your bill promptly and accurately to maintain a positive relationship with the venue.

5. Safety and Conduct

  • Follow all pub rules, including any instructions provided by the staff or LFC Supporters Club representatives.
  • Avoid actions that could cause harm or discomfort to others, such as throwing objects, excessive shouting, or aggressive behavior.

6. Cleanliness and Care for the Venue

  • Treat the pub and its facilities with care and respect.
  • Clean up after yourself and dispose of rubbish properly to maintain a welcoming environment for all.
  • Report any issues with the facilities to pub staff or LFC Supporters Club representatives.

7. Commitment to Sportsmanship

  • Celebrate victories graciously and accept defeats with dignity, reflecting the values of Liverpool FC.
  • Refrain from provoking or antagonizing fans of opposing teams, whether present at the venue or online.
  • Represent the LFC Supporters Club with pride and integrity, knowing your behavior reflects on our community.

8. Conflict Resolution

  • Address any disputes or concerns calmly and respectfully, seeking assistance from LFC Supporters Club representatives or pub staff if needed.
  • Avoid escalating conflicts, and prioritize maintaining a positive and harmonious atmosphere.

9. Community Spirit

  • Participate in club-organized activities, such as charity drives or community events, to give back to the local community.
  • Support fellow members in times of need, reinforcing the solidarity of our fanbase.

Consequences for Misconduct

  • YELLOW CARD: Violations of this charter may result in a warning, removal from the venue, or suspension of membership with the LFC Supporters Club.
  • RED CARD: Severe or repeated violations will be reviewed by the LFC Supporters Club committee and may result in permanent expulsion.+

Commitment to the Charter By attending matches at the official fan pub, all members and guests agree to abide by this charter and the consequences for misconduct. Together, we will ensure our gatherings are a source of pride for the LFC community and an unforgettable experience for every supporter.
